I'm put this question to FS, but figured I'd ask it here too.
What is the magic to using Edge with Jaws?
I have all current Jaws and Windows, and mine doesn't seem to be any better then it always was.
I was told jaws users can't use edge yet.
FS answered my email saying the same.
I had seen a podcast were Jaws 18 was working with it, but I guess that was fulls gold?
Laughing.
Yeah, I can't use Edge yet. Must have been a marketing production, lol.
I believe support is coming second or third week of August if I'm not mistaken.
The podcast you refer to has a version of JAWS which is still not yet available to the consumer, which shows them ironing out the methods to use the screen reader with Edge. They even said in that podcast if memory serves (and I'm pretty sure it does) that this is going to be put into a future update, though their timeline in the podcast may have been a bit too optimistic, similar to the timeline for the supposed release of the orbit reader 20, which to my understanding, was supposed to be purchasable at the conventions and at last check still has not been released.
Yes, and that was how I got lost. It said in a future update, then it updated, and so did Windows, so I had my finger on the Edge button, and well.
Laughing.
Patients, patients, right?
You are correct on another point.
The email I received from tech support said they are still working with Microsoft, so go figure?
If and when JAWS receives edge support, you'll see it very obviously pointed out in big bold letters in the release notes, trust me. They won't make it a small thing. They always make those kinds of things huge deals when they roll them out.
True enough,
